People power to protect South West egg producers? MEP's campaign.

Support South West farmers - that's the message from Julie Girling. The Conservative MEP is outraged that whilst egg producers in her region have spent millions improving welfare conditions for their hens, elsewhere in Europe old-style battery cages are still in use. Under EU law they have been illegal since the beginning of this year. Julie Girling wants shoppers to ask questions about where eggs - or egg-based products like cakes - have come from.
